Everything is Everyone and Each One is All

Here it is again! I have been so busy that I couldn't even type a few words into my blogs. What a way to go if I can't relieve my passion of telling a few good stories. So, having finished up on another sketch, I began writing about a very curious and unusual circumstance that I remember.

It is funny how memories surface as a result of one thing or another at the most unusual of times. I was minding my own business when I came across a few photos taken by some virtually unknown archaeologist who found a very old but interesting fossil. Well, the rest of the story begins here at this point somewhere out in the badlands of central North America.

I have travelled freely all over the continent in one mode of transportation or another. I have flown, taken the train, bussed, and even drove all sorts of vehicles a considerable distance. Never did I dream of having travelled in any other mode of transportation. But, there are more ways to travel than we can think of. We just don't conceptualize anything that stands out of the ordinary as a possibility.

One bright and particularly hot afternoon, I was resting in my big old van I called Coracle. Coracle is an Irish boat, circular and varying in size according to it;s purpose. My coracle was a 1973 Dodge Maxivan all decked out as a camper, with a stove, fridge, sink, running water, and a few other features that made the home that Coracle was to me for well over six years.

I was used to thinking odd things at different times. This time, though, I was stretched out on the bed at the back of the camper van, relaxed and very hot while a cooling draft circulated through the heating vents. I was on the verge of falling asleep, but still aware and thinking of the day I had so far. A cup of hot coffee rested on the counter next to where I lay. I didn't want for particularly anything, money in my purse, and a few days to rest during the coming weekend.

It started very quietly at first. A faint buzzing sound that barely rose up from the background of sounds I could hear in a parking lot near the back of a mall next to a highway. The faint buzzing sound was steady, more like the sound that molecules make by colliding in the air. The buzzing sound was as much a vibration as it was the release of energy from some unknown source. The question came to me as to where was the source of that seemingly pervasive effect?

I rose up from my comfortable lounge and walked to the front of the Maxivan to sit down in the driver's seat. I looked out through the thick glass windows to view the area where I was parked. The pavement was old and faded gray, decades old and cracked only where bedrock might have slipped with fractures. The area I was in seemed to be almost timeless, unchanged for very long periods of time. Yet, the whole area seemed to quiver with energy as the source of the sound I had detected.

To be honest, I thought there was an antigravity device of a UFO hovering over the Maxivan. It felt like something was disturbing the air as much as the bedrock that was transmitting that sound throughout the interior of the Maxivan and through my physical body. I was miffed to understand what could be the cause of the faint sound that was so completely pervasive.

How could something like that penetrating sound even occur? The faint sound rose up a very slight notch in volume, but it did not vary in frequency at all. Then the buzzing sound began to noticeably diminish until it was gone. The whole experience of hearing the buzzing sound couldn't have lasted more than a few minutes. I am sure it was only a few minutes of duration, and that it was a real effect, not my vivid and extraordinary imagination. Still, I could not fathom the actual source of the faint buzzing sound that had set me analyzing the very state of my own existence. How pitiful my mere existence is at times, eh?
